Todd Bentley - Is He a False Teacher Or False Prophet?

Blogs and You Tube are alive with people having a go at Todd Bentley and calling him a false prophet and false teacher. Thousands of people are going and reading these blogs and watching these videos pulling down a brother in Christ and saying all sorts of things about him. But because Todd has his opposition does that make him a false prophet or false teacher?

Todd Bentley is a powerful preacher. I have only heard to full sermons my Todd and they both powerfully impacted me to this day. I listened to one of his sermons on mp3 two years ago and I can still remember it and it had a drastic effect on my life. I have heard a hundred sermons since I heard Todd and only a handful affected me as much as Todd's sermon did.

One thing I know as a writer of articles and a preacher is that the real power of a sermon comes in experience. When a person is speaking about something they only read about in a book and have not lived, the presentation of the material that they bring is flat with no power or conviction. But, when a speaker has had experienced and lived his subject matter the presentation, is a lot more powerful and the sermon is alive with the Holy Spirit. For this reason I knew that Todd had lived his messages and that is why they had such a profound effect on me.

Does weird experiences with angels discount Todd as a preacher? Not at all! The fact he had familiar spirits try and fool him is more evidence that Satan knew he had been getting visited by true angels. Satan only feels the need to deceive people that are open to experiences.

Does falling in love with another lady and divorcing his wife discount him as a preacher and make him a false prophet? Not at all! If every preacher who divorced their wife were discounted there would be thousands and thousands not in ministry anymore. People tend to forget that King David committed adultery and married another mans wife after killing the man. God saw fit to allow David to continue to be King after that affair. In fact Jesus was descended from a prostitute and a lady who had sex with her father in law, so sexual sin is something God can forgive. The question is can people today forgive?

God has good things in store for Todd and he is not a false teacher nor a false prophet.
