Cars, RVs and Boats - Which Vehicle is Right For You?

The thrill of the wind through your hair, the rush of feeling the power beneath your hands as you tilt the steering wheel slightly to the right and feel the shift as you turn smoothly to the right. Your prized possession, this vehicle is what you saved up for and worked endless hours to one day afford. Now the day is here and you can enjoy zipping around in your... Boat? Car? RV? Choosing between these three luxury vehicles can seem like the impossible choice. So here are a few of the pros and cons of each that may make your choice a little more clear.

Cars are the most versatile choice and can be the vehicle to take you anywhere you could want to go. The highway and roadway system makes is possible to travel from coast to coast and everywhere in between. Such possibilities give weekend vacations and road trips endless possibilities.

Aside from the infinite destinations available by automobile, there are nearly as many choices of vehicle to drive. If you are in the mood for speed and power, then a sports vehicle is the perfect choice. Perhaps you go for size and space by choosing an SUV. There are many luxury vehicles that provide amenities such as GPS, dual climate control, leather seats and multiple adjustment features, moon roof and more. There are even some automobiles that offer auto assisted parallel parking functions. If the open road calls to you, then an auto is the way for you to go.

The downside of driving on four wheels is that you are limited to the road laid before you. Yes, there are some vehicles equipped for off-roading; however, the terrain still limits your reach. Driving laws and speed limits also restrict your flexibility. The nature of a vehicle also limits the movement you have within the space - you will likely be seated and buckled up the entire trip.

For some, the open road represents an entirely different kind of travel. RVs provide summer after summer of entertainment and family time for families both large and small. If your kids are grown and traveling the country with your sweetheart sounds like the perfect retirement plan, then a recreational vehicle is exactly the vehicle for you. Likewise, packing your young kids or teenagers into a home on wheels and hitting the road is the life you dream of, then this is the choice for you. Not unlike buying an automobile, the variety and features available can lead you to a camper large enough for weekend trips or a full out mobile home with room enough for eight.

If there is a downside to these giant recreational vehicles it is their sheer size. The enormous vehicle means you will be parking at the far end of parking lots and when the vehicle is not it use, you will have to find a large space for the long-term parking. Many owners rent parking spaces from self storage facilities, so this added cost should be factored in.

Driving along the highway or country road may not be the travel you dream of. Perhaps your day dreams take you on much more aquatic adventures. Skiing, wakeboarding, fishing or speeding along a lake, river or ocean may be more your style. The unrestricted space of the water, as opposed to a narrow road or street, combined with the entertainment and pleasure found onboard a water vessel are exactly why many opt for boats as their luxury item. For every reason or idea of how to enjoy the water, there are equally as many vehicles to choose from. There are designs made for speed and agility; such vehicles make water sports intense and unforgettable. There are some made for accommodating a large party of 10 people, or even yachts large enough for a few hundred guests. There are lake, ocean, swamp, marsh and river vessels - each with their own designs and features made specifically for certain conditions. There is bound to be a water vessel made just for you.

The downside of a watercraft is that they require a considerable amount of maintenance and upkeep. You will also have a docking or marina fee, unless you go through the hassle of putting it in the water and taking it out each time you take the vessel out.

No matter which way you go, there is a luxury vehicle in any of these categories that you and your friends and family are guaranteed to love. In the end, you should consider your lifestyle and there will undoubtedly be an obvious choice of luxury vehicle for you and your family. And who says you have to choose just one?
