Do You Need an Online Motorsports Marketing Specialist?

found something online the other day that really got me laughing. There are people out there who are calling themselves 'online motorsports marketing specialists'! In this digital age I suppose anything is possible and we do live in a country of free enterprise. But I do find this somewhat amusing. If you are doing online marketing then you are an online marketing specialist period. I find the slight distinction of adding a motorsports classification unnecessary. This doesn't make the specialist better or worse as long as they are masters of their own objectives. In this case, marketing Yamaha atv parts, Kawasaki oem parts, or any type of Honda motorcycles.

When I was in New York I served as an art director working for various advertising groups. I noticed this sort of behavior when I worked professionally. There were graphic designers who called themselves, 'Chiropractic Graphic Designers' or 'Medical Graphic Designers' and I never understood this. All of a sudden a graphic designer had to have a medical degree to create 2D and 3D designs for the medical community. This whole notion is just absurd. We had another name for graphic designers when I was in the field. We used to call each other pixel jockeys. It's not very nice or very complimentary but that was what we were. In my opinion we were nothing more than replaceable dreamers, hustlers, and panic driven job takers working on the scene.

Are motorsports dealerships supposed to buy into this? If you are trying to sell Yamaha ATV parts online and are looking for the next best thing you should get someone who has a fundamental idea of how to sell period. Getting a website that offers nothing more than pictures and prices will not be enough to get the job done. A lot of these sites are built wrong in the first place. I come across a lot of these sites that are loaded with Flash animations and have excessive java script. Beyond anti friendly SEO, (search engine optimization) there is nothing to distinguish this type of marketer as opposed to someone who really knows what they are doing.

It takes a lot to get your sites listed on the search engine. Think of it this way. If you want your Yamaha motorsports dealership to pop up on the search engines you need to beat 5 million competing sites on the average. That is a serious number to beat. You need to pay attention and to deliver high quality web content out there. It makes little difference if you are a motorsports, ATV, or motorcycle expert or not. It helps of course to write endearing content for the search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo but for the most part you need to understand how search engines really work. You need to know how search engines display the web content in your web sites. This is especially important if you want to sell Yamaha ATV parts online and Kawasaki motorcycle parts.
