The Escort was Ford's answer to the growing domination if the Japanese cars in the economy car segment of the market. It was a semi-compact car which made its debut in 1981 as a two door hatchback or four-door wagon and featured front-wheel drive, an overhead cam four-cylinder engine, a fully independent suspension and rack and pinion steering. It encountered early problems which made frequent recalls necessary but in spite of these issues the Escort went on to become one of the best selling cars , consistently, for many years.

Over the years, the car transformed into a solid, compact economy car with quality of the build and reliability that equaled, or even exceeded, those of the Japanese cars. In the early 1990s, Ford's partnership with Mazda manifested itself with the introduction of the Escort GT which had borrowed its engine from mazda. By 2000, the Escort was slowly being sidelined by the new ford focus which was more European and edgy.
The last version of the Escort debuted in 1997 and most of the cars in the market are either these or older, second hand versions. The Escort, according to many, has many plus points like being comfortable, having good fuel economy and a good looking exterior. To further enhance the looks of your car you can go for the Escort body kits. A body kit is basically a set of components which help make modifications to the exterior of the car. You can do anything right from just changing the color of your car to replacing the paneling of the body. Using body kits is a very cheap and convenient way of expressing your creativity on the appearance of your car. The look can be molded in such a way that it reflects your personality therefore making it very different from the other Escorts on the road.
The Escort body kits make it possible to do a variety of things to the looks of your car. These alterations give the car a fresh look and made you feel that you are driving a new car all together.
